Annali d'italianistica, Inc., was founded at the University of Notre Dame in 1983. In 1989 it moved to the Department of Romance Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As of January 2017 the journal is sponsored by the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (ACMRS) at Arizona State University in Tempe. Annali d'italianistica is an independent journal of Italian studies directed and edited by eminent scholars, whose names and academic affiliations appear on the journal's editorial boards. Annali d'italianistica, Inc., is non-profit organization.
