LWSIAS 2000

APOLOGIES FOR CROSS POSTING.

LWSIAS 2000 is a serious attempt to consider the various pressures which the
digital revolution is creating for teachers everywhere, from grade school to
university. It takes the view that we should work out where we are going by
looking first at the resources we use / can learn to use/ then exploiting
possibilities.

Our experience with scholars and teachers so far indicates the extent to
which teachers and young [and not so young] professionals have benefited
from the experience of working together and actually concentrating on the
study of problems which are both exhilarating and serious.

LWSIAS 2000 ?Exploring the Digital Frontier?

The Web and associated internet technologies have been with us for only a
few years. They have raised expectations as to what they can achieve. LWSIAS
2000 explores the very edge of their promise. The evolution of ?good
practice? in the use of these technologies continues, and LWSIAS 2000
provides specialist teaching and tutorial support for those anxious to
develop their own work.

LWSIAS 2000 gathers a number of leading practitioners from North America and
Europe to work in two independent sessions, one in May another in September.
Each session comprises two introductory and four specialised option courses.
Teaching is in individual and small group, students work through materials
of their choice, in LWSIAS facilities on the shores of the Lake of the
Woods.
