Is there a good flatbed book scanner ...?

Hi -

I seem to recall a flatbed book scanner which scanned to the very edge
of the glass. This allowed you to place one page of the book face down
on the scanner with the opposite side hanging over the edge and
supported by a sloping side. This was much gentler on the binding yet
still privided a high resolution scan.

Can anyone provide me with a manufacturer and model number of such a
scanner? Or, perhaps of a copier and we could then scan the copies?
Does anyone have any experience with such a systems?

As an aside, I'm very interested in many of the questions I read on the
list but the answers are frequently sent directly to the requestor. On
some other lists, people send a summary of the responses to the list and
I find that extremely helpful. So I'll summarize any responses.

Thanks,

Barry
