MARAC Meeting Scholarship



[March 1st Deadline]

MARAC MEETING SCHOLARSHIP

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC) offers scholarships
of $300.00 for individuals to attend its semi-annual meetings. Scholarship
funds may be used for conference registration, workshops, conference meals,
and travel expenses. Persons meeting the criteria outlined below are
encouraged to apply.

Applicants must:

1. Be a new member of MARAC with a membership of at least one month and
less than two years duration at the time of application,

2. Be a new employee of less than two years in an archival or archives
related field, OR Be currently enrolled as a graduate student in history or
a related field, library science or archival administration, having taken
at least three credit hours in archival studies, by the application
deadline. Full time and part time students will be considered,

3. Not have received any MARAC scholarship previous to this application,

4. Be from an institution (if employed) that is unable or unwilling to
provide conference expenses.

TO APPLY, submit a current resume and a letter in which you outline your
compliance with the qualifications and indicate the benefit you expect to
receive from the scholarship. Also include a letter of reference from a
person who can indicate how you will benefit from a MARAC scholarship; the
name, address, and phone number of your immediate supervisor or graduate
advisor, and include a statement (if employed) explaining your
institution's inability to  provide conference expenses.

DEADLINES:
The deadline for receipt of Fall conference scholarship applications is
September 1; for Spring conference scholarships the deadline for receipt of
applications is March 1.
