Folks....

It is late on a Friday afternoon and I have the benefit of sitting here in
my home office with a good Canadian ale and a full pack of du Mauriers...my
office not being a place that is neither smoke free nor politically
correct....

Look...is it all the snow or what? I remember a series of flaming messages
a couple of years ago that we attributed to summer heat....

In general...hitting the 'send' button wrongly produces embarrasment...so
does replying to a message regarding a message when the original is not
read....

Up here in the Great White North we are used to the "February
Effect"...deprivation of vitamin A from sunshine and all....so let's all
just relax and remember we have delete buttons which are more effective
than flames...

Now it could be that because I'm what on this side of the border is
referred to as an 'Anglican'...Episcopalian south of the 49th
parallel...but I'm having a hard time believing that ours is a profession
that eats its own....

Right now I'm going to sit back...light up again...and get another Molson
Export...and think back over all the really happy times I have had as an
archivist...including the fellowship that I have shared with my colleagues
on both sides of the border...and I would encourage all to do the
same...let the snow put out the flames instead of giving us all cabin
fever....

Cheers!

Mark
