REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS

The Valley Women's History Collaborative seeks a consultant for a
Documentary Heritage Grant Project to locate, preserve and make
accessible records pertaining to the related histories of the
women's and lesbian movements in Pioneer Valley since 1968.

The consultant will work with the project director and organizational
staff at intervals over the course of this one-year pilot project,
helping project staff 1) to develop working definitions, inventory
tools, and overall plan of work; 2) to digest feedback received at a
general informational gathering; 3) to assess progress at the
project's midpoint; 4) to review the results of repository
survey and donor relations initiatives; and 5) to evaluate the final
results of the project.

This project is funded in part by a grant from
the Secretary of the Commonwealth William Francis Galvin, the
Massachusetts Historical Records Advisory Board, and the National
Historical Publications and Records Commission.

The consultant must demonstrate significant experience in
documentation planning.  Preferred candidate will hold an MLS or
MA in History. References will be checked.  The consultant will
contract for five days of service at $300 per day, or 35 hours of
service for a total of $1500.00.
