We recently had a problem with gum.  Someone stuck gum to a mounted photo in
an exhibit.  We took the photo down and stuck it in the freezer.  After the
gum froze it was easy to remove.  I don't know if this will work in your case,
but it is worth a try and it will not damage the t-shirt.  Good luck.
