Arizona Photographs

The History and Archives Division of the Arizona
Department of Library, Archives and Public Records has
posted the first 9500 digitized photographs on our
website at:

dlaprphotos.lib.az.us

The images were captured using Photoshop for editing
and put into container files on Filemaker Pro. While
the accession records are essentially Dublin Core,
what is shown on the website represents only five
fields of the database.

The image files are small and (deliberately) cannot be
enlarged. It is our hope/intention that individuals
interested in using or publishing the photographs in
the collection will follow the procedures on the
website.

Subject searches employ Library of Congress graphic
materials headings.

Improvements, particularly speed, are still pending.
In the meantime, we hope people will enjoy the website
and that this will improve access to Arizona's
historical photographs.
