Re: Museums and documents



And as we all know the goal of every archives is to digitize
everything in our collections (note: heavy sarcasm intended ;-)

What to invest in a specific ledger is dependent upon specific
information about the ledger and its relationship to your
institution's mission. The vast majority of ledgers I've seen
in my career merit neither treatment of bindings nor digitization.
I have seen examples of both - although microfilming is more
often appropriate.

In fact, my appraisal decisions have resulted in the loss
of hundreds of ledgers to the dustbin of history (literally).
