Query: Archival records in SNAP!

I work at a historic home that has its curatorial collections on the
database program,
SNAP!. My project, soon, will be to add the special collections
(manuscripts, maps, photographs, sheet music, etc.) onto this database.
Photographs and such are
fairly easy to figure out. My question is has anyone on the list had
experience putting
manuscript collections on SNAP! Any hints, suggestions, etc. would be
very helpful. Should I enter only each collection and then refer to a
finding aid? Should I not enter anything in SNAP! and rely only on
finding aids? We do not have programs such as AIIMS or MARC. SNAP! is
set up for museum collections, not necessarily archival or special
collections.

Thank you in advance for your assistance! You can reply to me off list
at the following email address.
