Public participation in city long range planning

Arguing one current newsletter would be or would not be
legitimately public diminishes an overall adversarial
indifference or the hostile hatred expressed toward public
participation in long range planning by our city hall and
our city public library department about readily disclosing
other legitimately public long range planning reports, board
minutes and related public information.

Routinely delaying or denying information has been contrary
to our public library mission

Public participation in long range planning includes library
users/customers/consumers, city personnel and unions
collective bargaining labor relations advocates.

Our city of Boston public library departments should have
better current resources for our communities constituencies
to get more timely public information about city hall
departments and even about the lib itself as an institution
that contributes to improving the quality of living in New
England.

An improved customer services attitude at public services
desks is needed.

We need more archivists and librarians who advocate for a
more open government.

We need more archivists and librarians who will advocate for
routine transmittal of current city hall public documents to
the lib for ready reference as one way to further greater
public participation in local government and planning.

Change the institutional culture of our city clerks
archives!
