preserving paper material
My name is Bobby Sizemore and I am a guidance counselor at Fort Myers High School in Fort Myers, Florida. We are building a Hall Of Fame building for our athletic department and I will be the curator. We have some old paper memorabilia that I would like to preserve such as programs and tickets. I have heard various means as to how I should do this ranging from: laminating to encasing in lucite. I want to preserve the ink and print on the tickets. I've seen some tickets that lose their ink and print after a few years as it fades off. I want to prevent this by coating them with something. Any suggestions? I have e-mailed about a half dozen of you today from e-mail addresses I gathered beginning with the National Archives. If you can assist me I would greatly appreciate, if not , maybe you could point me in the right direction. Thank You, Bobby Sizemore
