Project Archivist: Texas Monthly Magazine Collection

           PROJECT ARCHIVIST: TEXAS MONTHLY MAGAZINE COLLECTION

Qualified applicants are invited to apply for the position of Project
Archivist to  arrange and describe the first five years of the Editorial
Series of the Texas Monthly Magazine Archives, approximately 50 linear feet
of the 900 linear foot collection. Additional responsibilities include
creating a finding aid, a MARC record for the collection, and a
correspondents index.

The qualifications for this position include demonstrated experience in
arranging and describing archival collections, and knowledge of basic
preservation practices.  An ALA-accredited masters degree is preferred.

The Texas Monthly Magazine Archives is part of the Southwestern Writers
Collection at Southwest Texas State University.  This position is funded as
part of a grant from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

Working under the direction of the Curator, Special Collections and the
Archivist, Southwestern Writers Collection, the Project Archivist will work
40 hours per week for a total of 19 weeks.  The rate of pay is $15.73.
