Re: HOAX: fw scary

Peter,
I have to agree with you. I have finally broken my entire family and my
staff of this bad habit of spreading rumors --it took about a year. I gave
them links to verify that the information is true or false before sending.
My staff knows it can affect their performance reviews. Forwarding such
information is like a bad game of gossip. Especially when the emails are
like chain letters etc. That is what the originator want you to do. Thus,
you are a victim of psychological warfare if you send this stuff...and you
are perpetuating fear based on human gullibility to believe what is in
print. If the content had inaccuracies about records or archives I am sure
someone would be screaming.

Also, several companies I know of have issued corporate policies against
such activities. The employee can be reprimanded, etc. for wasting valuable
time and server space.

Carolyn (on your side of the fence) Trim

I agree. It isn't any more "unprofessional" than a week-long discussion of
hush puppies. And it's much more relevant!
