Significant Upcoming Court Hearing on Public Access to Public Records - April 28th

Title: Significant Upcoming Court Hearing on Public Access to Public Records - April 28th
Oral Arguments Scheduled in Lawsuit to Compelling Federal Judges to Release Public Financial Disclosure Records

Get a front row seat to one of the most significant public records access cases in years.

If you've followed APBnews.com's fight to post online the most recent financial disclosure reports of all 1,600 U.S. federal judges - designated as public records for two decades -- you may want to know of an upcoming significant hearing in the case.

Oral arguments on the judges' motion to dismiss APBnews.com's lawsuit as moot -- before the government has even turned over a single document, as it announced it would more than a month ago - are scheduled for next Friday, April 28, 2000, at 5 p.m., before U.S. District Judge Jed S. Rakoff at the United States Courthouse, Southern District of New York, at Foley Square, 500 Pearl Street, Room 1340, New York, NY  10007 -- probably in Courtroom 14B, but check with the deputy.  The Judge's clerk can be reached at 212-805-0401 if necessary to confirm the time and date.
