Re: Databases and EAD

Title: RE: Databases and EAD

Would you post your replies or send them to me privately. I need to compile a database (using Microsoft Access, I think) of archives materials and make it accessible on our website and I am interested in hearing how others do it. I know html inside out, but this is totally new.

Subject: Databases and EAD

Hello everyone,

I was curious if there is anyone out there working on implementing
a program (either java or Perl) that would extract records from a database
and instantly produce a document in EAD or XML.  I am looking into
creating this application and want to know if anyone has already done
this.  I would like to make it possible for staff to simply enter
information into a database without worrying about tagging for XML and
EAD.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Althea E. Miller
