July 17-18 9 AM-3:30 PM
Mohave County Historical Society, Kingman AZ

Presented by the Arizona State Library, Archives &
Public Records staff

Announcing a workshop for northwest Arizona
institutions which are involved with-- or are well
into planning-digitization projects. Museums,
libraries, historical societies and archives are all
encouraged to participate.

The two day workshop will be a hands-on, participatory
experience taking real collections (like yours)
through the complete process to make them internet
ready, and prepare your institution for international
exposure!

Information covered will include: Making a database
work, ways to organize collections physically and
digitally, using Dublin Core records for your specific
institution, making the important links to connect
your databases, items and digitized files, how to scan
anything well, how to migrate/preserve your work and
getting it on the internet.

Note: This is not an introductory program. It is for
institutions already into LSTA grant projects, those
who have already begun their own digitization
programs, or those who have begun serious planning.

This is the first of four proposed two day workshops
in the next year. The next is tentatively scheduled
for Willcox in October.

A more basic one day workshop, for those planning LSTA
grants or interested in beginning digitization
projects, will be featured in each of Arizona's four
regions during the next year.

Registration for Flintstones to Jetsons is free!
Your reservation should be sent via email to
ldevine@lib.az.us or mmoore@lib.az.us . Phone
registration to the Arizona State Archives
602-542-4159. Due to the hands-on nature of this
workshop, the maximum number of participants is 12.
