dog shows and monster trucks



Interesting facts about Dog and Monster Truck Shows

The interests of dog show fans and monster truck show fans track similarly,
albeit in different economic ranges.

The vector combustion ratio for monster trucks is similar to those of the
space shuttle's.  Vector Combustion ratios have little to do with dog shows.

More monster truck shows are held in the north than in the south.  More dog
shows are held in the south than in the north.

Monster truck models are sold at Wal-Mart.  Dog show action figures are sold
at Hammacher-Schlemmer.

On average dog show and monster truck show fans own 2.3 VCRs per family.
They tend to record different shows.

Monster truck shows draw larger crowds to larger venues than dog shows.

More pork rinds are sold at monster truck shows than dog shows, but more
watercress sandwiches are sold at dog shows than monster truck shows.

For two years in the mid 1990s the League of Monster Trucks (LMT) sponsored
the "Monster Dog Show" featuring only very large dogs.  Unpopular with
purists, the shows proved unsuccessful.

Monster truck shows require more Port-o-lets than dog shows.

Monster truck show fans tend to be Evangelicals while dog show fans tend
toward Episcopalian.

The "American Association of Municipal Animal Control Officers" tried in the
1950s to put an end to dog shows believing they led to an increase of
strays.  They are now the main sponsors of "Beefy Bill -- The Crazy Wild
Man" a monster truck participant.

There is a sharp divide between monster truck fans and the fans of swamp
races, even though both feature outsized vehicles and huge tires.  Dog show
fans don't seem to care.

There are plans to hold the world's Largest Monster Truck Rally in a 300
acre natural amphitheater near Lodestone, Ohio.  This three week long event
would feature races, jumps and finally a one million dollar winner-take-all
demolition derby.  In conjunction with this event the North American Dog
Confederation will host the largest outdoor dog show of the last fifty
years.
