Re: Ownership of Files

For the ten state universities of Florida, the collective
bargaining agreement provides that faculty shall have
control over their correspondence, working papers,
research, and other materials. Control has been
defined as ownership, not simply access. State law
on public records also apply to these papers, but
nevertheless I cannot recall any situations where a
faculty member "lost" their records due to university
seizure as being "property" of the institution.
