Death of a Senator - Advice Needed

Yesterday US Senator Paul Coverdell from Georgia died after a very short
illness. Our archives is to be the recipient of his US Senate papers. We
have received
approximately two shipments (150 linear feet) of documents from his eight
years in office.
I am looking for advice from people/archives who have had experience
dealing with offices of senators who have passed away while in office.
As you know, the time frame for physically leaving the suite of offices
in Washington DC is very short - and any advice from experienced
archivists would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Val Nye
