Re: Panama-Pacific Expo

The records of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition are held by the
Bancroft Library at UC-Berkeley. The collection is truly gigantic -- or
perhaps titanic is a better word, given the era. You can find out how many
people entered the gates on any given day, the agricultural goods displayed
at the Iowa pavilion, the film stars who visited the midway on a Sunday
afternoon. The Exposition is so well documented that it might be possible
to re-create the entire fair in the form of a virtual reality CD. (you
heard it here first, don't forget).

You can search the finding aid to the pictorial component of the collection
at:

(confidential to JVE -- sorry about this, but such are the perils of easy
access)
