Position Announcement



Archivist, Alan K. Simpson Institute for Western Politics and Leadership,
American Heritage Center, University of Wyoming, Laramie

The archivist arranges and describes the Simpson Family Papers and other
manuscript collections of Western leaders, supervises students and interns,
presents and publishes papers about Wyoming and Western political leaders,
teaches appropriate courses, assists with the acquisition of papers of
western leaders, and works closely with the Simpson Institute Advisory
Committee.  This is a faculty position.

Qualifications: Master of Arts in History, American Studies, Archival
Science, or Master of Library Science or an equivalent combination of
education and experience.  Requires a minimum of three to five years
experience as an archivist or historian.  Knowledge of Western history
preferred.  Teaching experience preferred.  Salary $32,000-$36,000.  Review
