I wasn't going to jump into this discussion, but after limericks were
used, I felt I just MUST put in my bid for true poetry dedicated to
Archives and Archivists.

Way back in 1979 while working for the Cornell University Archives I

Geri might also remember Cornell as the ancestral home of the Archives
Olympics -- the swivel chair race, the glass plate negative toss, the
MARC-record marathon, etc. etc.

A personal favorite is the cartoon of a pajama-clad man, kneeling in prayer
beside his bed, looking upward and pleading, "Under the Freedom of
Information Act, I'm requesting that you disclose what you have on me in
your files."
