Re: Retention of Promotion and Tenure Records

Here's the appropriate series from the Harvard General Records Schedule. I
believe the medical records-related retention is only there to accommodate
Massachusetts law.

Faculty Personnel Records
This series documents individual faculty academic work histories. Faculty
may be senior, junior, or other, including lecturers, teaching fellows, and
teaching and research assistants. Records include vitae, letters of
recommendation, offer letters, contracts and understandings, acceptance
letters, appointment forms, course descriptions, performance evaluations,
professional development records, faculty planning sheets, promotion and
senior review (tenure) decision records, sabbatical leave requests and
reports, vacation and sick leave records, awards, commendations, letters of
resignation, and related correspondence.

Permanent: Junior and senior faculty records.

30 years after faculty separation: Faculty files where accompanying medical
records exist relating to injury, sickness, or exposure to hazardous
materials while performing work for Harvard University.

6 years after faculty separation: All other records.
