POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Archivist II ? Classified Position ? Grade 33

The library seeks an archivist who will manage the university archives,
along with additional responsibilities in the Special Collection Department.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manuscript Librarian, solicit, appraise,
arrange and describe historically significant university records; arrange
and describe Special Collections manuscript and archival collections;
provide in-depth reference service for the university archives collections
along with general special collections reference duties; prepare print and
on-line guides and finding aids for the collections; working with the
Technical Services department prepare MARC cataloging records for archival
collections; assist in promoting resources of the department through
exhibitions and presentations; provide support as necessary in other areas
of the department; supervise student assistants.

Qualifications:

A combination of educational (undergraduate and graduate) and/or
professional experience. See website:

In addition, this position requires a working knowledge of professional
archival standards, principles, practices, and concepts as applied to the
operation of government and/or university archival records programs;
archival cataloging (MARC).

Approximate Annual Salary - $33,742 to $45,643 ? Pay Grade 33
