Hyperion

Sharon:

When I was with the Census Bureau, working on the project to digitize their
historical documents, we looked at Hyperion. I spoke with Lillian Gassie at
RAND to get her experience since they use Hyperion. Hyperion is great if
your collection is full-text searchable. If you aren't entirely full-text,
it's a lot of money for little payoff. Plus, my experience with Sirsi
Unicorn would not recommend it for use with an archival collection (sorry to
all you out there who use it). I've worked with another product called OLIB
made by FDI in England which has a nice set up for handling archival
collections. Software for archival collections does not seem to be an easy
thing to find. Good luck.
