WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former White House counsel Charles Ruff said Monday he
never spoke with President Clinton or his senior aides about an e-mail
foul-up that kept his staff from properly reviewing messages under subpoena.

At a court hearing on the missing e-mails, Ruff said he couldn't recall
discussing the e-mail problem outside of his own staff and a conversation
with White House lawyer Mark Lindsay. Ruff presented similar testimony
before a congressional committee in May.

(IDG) -- Tired of slogging through hundreds of e-mail messages each day? An
emerging technology called Sieve touts a simple, universal way to create
filters for sorting, deleting and forwarding e-mail messages before they
enter your inbox.
Sieve is undergoing last-minute tweaking by engineers from Mirapoint,
Cyrusoft, Qualcomm and other e-mail vendors. These engineers recently asked
the leadership of the Internet Engineering Task Force to approve Sieve as a
standards-track protocol.

Florida's attorney general has entered the fray over safety problems with
Firestone tires and Ford Explorers.
Attorney General Bob Butterworth's office sent two lengthy investigative
subpoenas last week to the Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. tire company and Ford
Motor Co.
The subpoenas seek volumes of information on everything from safety testing
to Ford's decision to recall the tires in several foreign countries. Some
documents sought date back more than 10 years.
"Who knew what about what was going on?" said Les Garringer, head of the
attorney general's economic crimes division. "We'd like them to answer those
questions."

club member JoEllyn Pedota was quoted as saying in Thursday's Bay City
Times. "We might not have done it."
"Cemetery Inscriptions, Arenac County, Michigan," has 476 pages and 11,436
