Re: Social responsibility

Boy, isn't technology fun?!?! Someone posts a broadcast message, calling for
subscribers to a new list, and isn't it amazing how things get confused?

No, Sally, I'm NOT having fun with THIS list...I was having fun with THAT
list.

But this message really doesn't have much to do with the Archives Listserv,
so I better insert some obligatory archives-related material: Did everyone
have fun in Denver at SAA? Was the Adam's Mark up to snuff? Did anyone miss
Michael "The Terrible" Tarabulski (Good to see you back on the Listserv,
Michael!)?

Any chance that we can call this thread ("Re: Social Responsibility") dead,
null and void?

I don't know if Dennis Who? is just having fun with this list, or if he
really is perturbed about the identity of "Rick Barry." In case he's
genuinely puzzled, let me share what I've discovered in the past few
minutes.

I don't know Mr. Barry, but he's not very hard to find. A quick google
search identified a variety of sites associated with "Rick Barry archivist"
(my search terms) and indicate that he has had a good deal of experience
with archives and the new technologies.

In case anyone wonders what sorts of things the not-very-mysterious Mr.
Barry does, here's an excerpt from one of the sites listed by google.
