The Columbia Journalism Review has a (US) Dollar Conversion Calculator that
adjusts for inflation by expressing dollars for past years as more current
values.  The calculator is based on work done by Robert Sahr at Oregon State
University.  It's at http://www.cjr.org/resources/inflater.asp.  Hope this
