Re: archives mystery needed

I'll never have a chance to write the archives story,
but insofar as a "crime" idea is needed, my idea has
always begun in the processing of a collection, a
hint among the records of a crime perpetrated but
not discovered, that sort of thing. Perhaps the
widow's rush to divest herself of any scrap of paper
dealing with the spouse...and accidentally leaves in
the "special" prescription for the cyanide tablets.
I noticed a Matlock episode at 4 a.m. this morning that
dealt with a crime by a legal professor, where the
crime was pinned on him by two students and his
teaching assistant. The two students were flunking,
and the teaching assistant (this was a guy in his 50s...
a teaching assistant in his 50s who was grading the
papers...unreal)...the t.a. had been 7 years old when
his father committed suicide because the legal
professor then a prosecutor had uncovered unsavory
dealings at the bank! Far-fetched but an interesting
idea! I'll have to start screening the grad students
and t.a.s now!
