Frick Papers

Michelle Powers wrote, "In December of 1999 there was talk about moving
the Frick papers from
Philadelpia to N.Y. There were several messages in the Archives in the
News about it. I was wondering if anyone knows if there has been any
development. Searching the Philadelphia news online I can only find
articles from Dec."

The Frick Papers are currently at Clayton, the home of Henry Clay Frick
and Helen Clay Frick, in Pittsburgh. Litigation is underway about whether
the papers will remain at this site or be moved to the Frick Art Reference
Library in New York. A hearing is tentatively scheduled for October 12th,
but I suspect this case will go on for a longer period.
