Re: Desperately seeking appraiser

An examination of the advertisements in the Summer 2000 issue of Manuacripts, the journal of the Manuscripts Society revealed the following possibilities in New York City and vacinity:
Walter R. benjamin Autographs, Inc., telephone 518-263-4133
Keyna Gallery, telephone 800-906-5392
Lion Ahear Autographs, telephone 800-969-1310
James Lowe Autographs, LTD., telephone 212-759-0775
Kenneth W. Rendell Gallery Inc. telephone 800-447-1007
Anna Sosenko, telephone 212-247-4816
Swan Galleries, telephone 212-254-1017
Some of them specifically mention literary materials and some appraisals. I do not know anything about any of them other than that Walter R. Benjamin has been in business since 1887 and that Kenneth Rendell has done lots of appraisals and was the person who determined that the supposed Hitler diaries discovered and published in Germany a number of years ago were fakes.
Hope this helps.
