On Saturday, November 4, we invite you to celebrate the grand opening of the expanded and redesigned Heard Museum Library and Archives, named for dedicated and longtime volunteer and patron Billie Jane Baguley.

On this special afternoon, artist Nora Naranjo-Morse will read an original work of poetry, commissioned for the occasion by Heard Museum Circles of Giving members Joel and Lila Harnett. Artists Kay WalkingStick, Harry Fonseca, and Margaret Wood will also be present, addressing the importance of libraries and archives and speaking about new aspects of their artistic careers. Afterward, enjoy a delectable Dessert Reception and the opportunity to explore this new Heard Museum treasure.

A great library can form the soul of a museum, storing the archival records and knowledge that is drawn upon to create outstanding and thought-provoking exhibitions. The Heard Museum's library and archives is no different, providing a wealth of information about indigenous cultures around the world and a resource file that offers information on more than 18,000 Native artists.

Please share this invitation with your colleagues and friends. RSVP by Wednesday, November 1, 2000, to (602) 251-0209 extension 6405.
