RE: ARMY RECORDS
I was asked to pass along the following information.
It is not clear as to the extent to which if any IRR files or portions of
files are still classified; I have requested a clarification from NARA. I
think that some files are still classified, however without a usable finding
aid, you will need to check on a case by case basis.
If you go to Archives II to look at documents, please allow 3-4 days as the
procedure to register and retrieve documents can take some time,
particularly for those unfamiliar with this wonderful but complex facility.

date.
The entire series of 617 boxes has undergone a systematic declassification
review. Regrettably, we have not yet updated the finding aid for these
records showing the changes.
FOIA requests for open, declassified records are inappropriate. The records
can be made available in the research rooms of Archives II. Reference
inquiries for fee copies should be addressed to
