Putting small local history catalog online

Hello,

I'm a cataloger for a community college library. We have a
small local history collection, consisting primarily of
pamphlets, photographs, & news clippings organized in a
vertical file with a good shelf list. We'd like to increase
access to these items by making the catalog available
          online.

Might anyone offer suggestions on directions we could take?
We use DRA as our OPAC. One thought I had would be to create
a MARC record for each folder, with subject access, and to
add the contents in a contents notes field. Or perhaps
there's a better database to use (e.g., Microsoft Access).
Then the issue would be how to provide online access to the
          database.

If you reply to the list, please copy a reply to me at
          jonathon_a._lee@laccd.cc.ca.us

Thanks so much for your input.
