CD anecdote

One of my favorite e-mail newsletters is the Langa List, published
by Fred Langa (www.langa.com). Each issue tells me about some
new software, utility, commentary, etc. about utilities that help me
run my PC better, correct problems, etc.

Anyway the latest newsletter contains an interesting
anecdote from a subscriber who downloads his copy
by satellite to his computer aboard his boat while
sailing around the world. All of his computer files are
daily backed up on a CD....so in the event of a boat
disaster, this CD and other things are kept in one sack
that you'd grab as you abandon ship. He worried though
about the effects of salt water. So he soaked a CD for
a week .... etc. You can read the rest at this link.
