It depends entirely on the status, reputation, and scholarly achievements of the faculty member. If you're dealing with
the likes of Albert Einstein or Willard Van Orman Quine, then grab those papers and hang onto 'em for dear life. But if
you're just dealing with Joe Blow or Mary Schmo who never published anything, never had any impact outside the
classroom, and were despised by their students, then let the department worry about 'em.
