Re: Archiving of electronic communications

In response to Barbara Geiger's request for information about developing
policy for archiving correspondence and documents that are transmitted
electronically, the Public Record Office here in Victoria (Australia) has
produced a standard on the management of electronic records for state
government agencies which covers the long term preservation and archiving
of records in electronic form. These records may include emails and faxes
(where they are received electronically).

The standard is available as part of the Office's Electronic Records
Strategy. The URL is http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/vers/
