The Williamsburg Historical Records Advisory Board seeks
a
Professional Archivist as consultant for a Massachusetts Documentary Heritage Grant project to be carried out during the months of February through April, 2001, in fourteen days of work. The consultant will work with the Advisory Board to identify and describe a range of historical documents in the community, assess their condition, and develop a strategic plan for processing, preserving and making them accessible as public resource. Specific activities will include surveying records and preparing a summary report to include recommendations for preservation, storage, security, organization, training of custodial/curatorial staff, priorities, public access, and funding sources to support those actions. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated experience in arranging and describing archival material and archives management and hold an advanced degree and archival training.
