Re: A. O. M. P. S.



As far as I know NCR is still there -- i moved away just 3 years ago.

What I was thinking of with the city directories was a section in the front
of the books, before the individual address/phone listings.  It's  an
alphabetical list of fraternal, religious, social, etc. organizations (like
the Knights of Columbus and others).  It usually gave acronyms for them
too, so I thought reading through the list might provide the answer to what
AOMPS stands for, kind of like the organizations Thomas J. Wood's message
refers to.

Perhaps I'm just muddling things more.  I'll hush now.
