As an archivist and euphonium player (OK, how many others are out there?),
I feel obliged to note that on occasion my euphonium has been compared to a
medical condition, and that suggestions have been made that might
necessitate the instrument's removal from an orifice.

For those in doubt, the euphonium is a large brass instrument pitched in
B-flat, with the same range as a baritone but a larger bore.  (Which
description, come to think of it, has occasionally been unjustly applied to
archivists.)  It is half the size and an octave higher than a standard
B-flat tuba.  Sort of a oneba.

True euphonists are merciless snobs about baritone players, whose
instruments we call malphoniums when their backs are turned.  We envy tuba
players, though, and even violists.

Gotta go frighten the cattle...
