Re: Report of Surveys

Additionally the various regional archival organizations can establish an
award for the best news reporting about the archives profession. Everyone
likes to receive an award, but most of all journalists whether print, radio
or TV. Ask yourself "of all the RAIN postings over the past year which story
most accurately reported on an archival problem or organization?" A plaque,
a certificate etc don't count for much. When SSA, MARAC or other archival
organizations hold their annual gatherings is the local press contacted or
made aware of the meeting? and if not why not?

Almost every news story that I post includes the reporters e-mail address.
Has anyone every written to one of the reporters to say thanks or complain.
If you do why not copy the listserv when you write the reporter?
