Records Management Officer
The IMF is seeking a Records Management Officer for its headquarters in
Washington, D.C. (USA)
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be part of a team of records managers, archivists,
information technology staff, and a group of external consultants involved
with development and implementation of an Electronic Records Management
System (ERMS). Under the direction of the ERMS Development Group Leader, the
incumbent will assume responsibilities that include but will not be limited
to the following:
*       liaise with departments on records keeping policies, procedures, and
records keeping systems including the ERMS.
*       the incumbent will also work with the external consultants to ensure
that the newly defined records keeping policies and procedures are
adequately addressed in the context of the ERMS system design cycle.
*       contribute to the development of the institutional records keeping
policies and procedures for the IMF including the establishment of the
definition of the IMF record, procedures for record declaration, metadata
and records security, file plan, and records retention and disposition.
*       contribute to the design of the ERMS. Specifically, solicit and
analyze users? responses that will be fed back into the design of user
interfaces and other components of the ERMS.
*       conduct systems and functional tests of the new ERMS at the
prototype and pilot stages. Provide functional support and administration
for the ERMS during and following the enterprise wide implementation of the
ERMS. 

Qualifications: 
An advanced university degree from an accredited university program with
concentration in records management and archives, complemented by in-depth
knowledge of professional standards and their practical applications, is
required. Three to five years of work experience in a records management
operation or in an archival setting along with an understanding of a
?post-custodial? archives and knowledge of the latest trends in the archival
and records management fields are required. Prior work experience with
computing systems, an understanding of the basic principles of database
functions and design and practical experience in implementing electronic
document and records management systems are highly desirable. Prior work
experience in a large multinational or multicultural institution is highly
desirable. In particular, an ability to deal diplomatically and effectively
with staff of different nationalities is highly desirable. Strong analytical
and writing skills and the ability to plan and prioritize work assignments
are desirable. This appointment is planned to start on March 1, 2001.
