Generic Media - dynamic streaming media conversion
A service that might be of interest to those providing access to digital audio/video:

Hey, that sounds kind of promising.
The idea is that you can store files in one of many formats of your choosing, and then the service
dynamically does converting, resizing, encoding, sampling and filtering, so that you don't need to
select media formats, player versions and bit rates in advance.
I have no direct experience with the service, but I like the concept, anyway. Anything that allows us
to worry about managing and preserving just one archival copy of a file, rather than all of the
potential access copies, could be pretty helpful in minimizing the complexity of our work.
