 Primary Tasks: Provides records management advisory and training services
to all City offices. Works with city departments to evaluate, develop, and
implement recordkeeping systems with emphasis on electronic records. Drafts
records schedules, prepares appraisal reports, and coordinates the
disposition of City records. Develops and implements classification,
indexing, and filing systems by completing inventories, researching current
records and file systems, describing records series, and drafting new
systems; also defines procedures and ensures inclusion of electronic
records. Assists the development of document management systems by reviewing
workflow, recordkeeping operations, equipment, software, and space
utilization; defining new procedures; identifying retention requirements,
evaluating proposed file and document management systems (EDMS), and
assisting implementation. Assists the development of records management
policies, standards, and procedures.  Additional Information: Ability to
apply knowledge of electronic records and electronic recordkeeping is
important. The incumbent must be able to build and sustain service teams and
to fashion and implement solutions that meet customer needs and comply with
standards. It is necessary to be able to handle difficult situations,
non-compliant customers, and departmental variances with tact, discretion,
common sense, determination, and persistence so that complaints are minimal
and customer satisfaction is high.  Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree
in Library Science from an ALA-accredited university with a concentration in
archives or records management plus two (2) years experience as a
professional records management analyst or archivist, or equivalent
combination of education, training, and experience in records management,
information systems or archives.
Licenses:       Must have valid Texas driver's license. CA and CRM are
desirable.
Notes:  Excellent communication and coaching skills, analytical ability, and
a strong customer service orientation are essential. Incumbent must have
ability to work with all levels of staff and be able to manage changing
priorities. Must be able to apply practical problem-solving techniques to
situations.
Safety and/or Physical Requirements:    Must be able to lift 35 lb. Records
storage boxes.
Salary: $17.55 - $21.94 /hour
Location:       212 Alpine
Hours:  8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (flexible)
