HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

A non-profit, ecumenical Christian ministry, Habitat for Humanity (HFHI)
renovates impoverished housing, and fights poverty and homelessness by
building affordable homes for family in need.  Since its founding in 1976,
the organization has built over 100,000 homes worldwide.

This position is located in Americus, GA:

Archives Assistant
Extended Volunteer (one-year commitment)
The position is responsible for assisting in the processing of existing
archival and museum collections and create finding aids. As well, this
position will assist with the inventory of museum artifacts displayed in
Habitat Buildings.  The qualified applicant will have effective oral and
written communication skills, be self-motivated and be able to work
independently, have the ability to plan and organize work, possess the
ability to perceive and analyze problems, encompass the skills to develop
alternatives and make or recommend sound decisions, and have the ability to
provide excellent customer service to users. The qualified applicant must
have knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and experience with database
applications. As well, the qualified applicant must have valid drivers
license and be able to travel between HFHI buildings, possess one year
experience working with museum or archival records, and have a minimum of a
High School Diploma or equivalent. It is ideal that the qualified candidate
would have a Bachelors Degree, preferably with an emphasis in history or
related field of study preferred.


Compensation:
        *       $450/month stipend
