Internship

The Frick Collection, located at 1 East 70th Street in New York City, is
seeking a qualified graduate student for a paid internship to undertake the
review and organization of a portion of the architectural records
documenting the planning, construction and subsequent modifications to The
Frick Collection and the Frick Art Reference Library buildings (exterior and
interior) dating from c. 1909 through the present.

The Frick Collection was designed and built by Carrère & Hastings c.
1909-1914. The mansion was modified 1931-1935 by John Russell Pope and
opened as a museum at the end of 1935. The Frick Art Reference Library,
also designed by John Russell Pope, was built between 1931 and 1935. As
part of the review and organization, the student will need to survey the
records, sort them, prepare an inventory and advise on the preservation of
at least a portion of them.

The intern will report to the Archivist of The Frick Collection and Frick
Art Reference Library, who will supervise the project, with the assistance
of other Collection and Library personnel.
