Re: Hooding ceremony



Jean,
I  found a little information about the significance of hooding.  In the
medical school commencement program, it states that "the hood symbolizes a
heavy burden. The hood identifies the level of the degree, the field of
learning, and the institution which awards it. The color of the trim declares
the major field of learning; forest green represents medicine.  The colors that
line the hood identify the university awarding the degree".   I know it's not
much to go on, but hopefully will be a starting point for you. Good luck in
