LOL Peter! A few Nodak words....
Though I've misplaced my North Dakotan vocab. list, I do
remember a few. (I'm managing to drop my ND accent at last-
though I never spoke with the following rural accent):
Cheens: Dungarees, Levis.
Crotch: Where you park your car at home to protect it from the
elements.
Sex: You carry your groceries home in them.
Chaget: You wear it when it's a little chilly out.
Broadch: When you come near to something. "Sir Edmund Hillary
began to broadch the summit of Mt. Everest when his O2 tank fell
off."
Jeetyet?: i.e. "Have you eaten yet?"
Budadahs: They usually come in 5 or 10 pound sex. Russet, new,
red, Idaho, etc. Can be served baked or mashed.
Coogies: You leave them with milk for Santa.
