Re: consultant fee?

I think that you should expect to pay a consultant between $250 and $500 per day plus expenses (transportation, meals, and housing if an overnight stay is required) depending in part upon the complexity of what you expect the consultant to do and the experience and the expertise of the consultant. If your institution has limitations on what it will pay for housing and meals, that should be included in your negotiations with the consultant.
The individual or institution looking for a consultant will, however have to decide what the consultant will do and what amount of experience and expertise the consultant needs before attempting to employ someone!
